It is recommended to check your anodes and anti fouling once a year. Recently BH Marine lifted a Beneteau Motor Yacht out of the water, on inspection the hull needed simply jet washing and antifouling. Looking a little closer all of the anodes were missing, in other words they had been eaten away by the natural processes. It appears that this particular vessel was moored in Weymouths Dean & Reddyhoff Marina, near to the fresh water stream. I believe that with fresh water flowing past and electric to the vessel whilst moored up eats away at the anodes more. So in this particular case, we have now invested in a water proof camera on the end of a pole, so that we can see clearly the condition of the anodes during the year and time the lift out accordingly. For your price match anti fouling and annual lift out please contact Ben on 0845 0583935 or email ben@bhmarine.co.uk

Ben from BH Marine competes in the latest Hell Runner;“It was with some naivety that I entered the HELL RUNNER challenge, I’d heard little about it before and rather conveniently Philippa failed to mention the numerous bogs, and near vertical forest terrain that lay in wait for us that soggy Sunday morning. Just as well that she did, or I would probably reconsidered my initial enthusiastic “Yes of course I’ll do it” answer to her email. Fortunately I was not alone in my muddy quest, and found it quite inspiring to see such an impressive turn out of the Original Source team.
During the run I was stunned by the variety of entrants, from good humored entertainers to the mud throwing club runners – everyone was having a go! Fortunately for me, I wore trainers with spikes - otherwise I could well have ended up swimming in the foul bogs along with those participants who chose to wear their best running shoes…oops
All in all I found HELL RUNNER to be a pretty exciting and different challenge, and foolishly I have promised to participate in the next Original Source sponsored event… I must be mad!”

I personally would like to see everyone who owns & skippers a vessel in the UK trained up to ICC level of competence. What are your thoughts on this?

I’m quite excited with the new developments at Osprey Quay, with yacht services, mechanicial lifts and restaurants. All we need now is some palm trees and a little sun! Is it going to be the new place to hang out in 2010?
